In stores today: Co-Mix!

Hey, look what's finally in stores: Co-Mix: A Retrospective of Comics, Graphics, and Scraps, by the legend, Art Spiegelman! Look, fold-out-y parts!

Art Spiegelman was interviewed on National Public Radio last week, and you can listen to the program in full right here. NPR'S staff quotes Spiegelman as having said in 1974: "As an art form, the comic strip is barely past its infancy. So am I. Maybe we'll grow up together." I think we can safely say his prediction has come true. Co-Mix is a beautiful, over-sized volume that I think is essential not only because it collects one of the most important cartoonist ever's best works, but because it shows this great cartoonist at his roots. It's a rare chance to see a master's process and growth as a cartoonist. I personally find that sort of thing very encouraging- that even Art Spiegelman started somewhere. Co-Mix covers a lot of ground, and also has amazing extras, like a reproduction of the long-out-of-print Raw comic, Two-Fisted Painters. You wanna see that, don't ya?!

You can casually position your copy of Co-Mix in your home like we did, and impress all your friends-

If you're in New York City, lucky you, you have three chances to see Art Spiegelman himself this month!
