Team D+Q in Stockholm!

Look out, Sweden! D+Q is invading your shores this week for Stockholms Internationella Seriefestival

Already landed are D+Q creative director Tom Devlin and associate publisher Peggy Burns. En route are….

Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant) and Seth (Palookaville 21).

2014 marks the sixteenth edition of the Stockholms Internationella Seriefestival, and this year features a special focus on the Canadian comics scene, which we are thrilled to help represent. So without further ado (and because this is the extent of my ability to Google Translate Swedish), here are where you can find D+Qers at the show. There's an early event before the weekend's festival, taking place tonight!

Thursday May 15, 7 pm
The Canadian Cartoon Scenea conversation with the publishing company Drawn & Quarterly
This will be a conversation about the history of Drawn & Quarterly between D+Q Associate Publisher Peggy Burns, D+Q creative director Tom Devlin, and long-time D+Q author Seth. The talk takes place in The Project Room, The Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Maria skolgata 83, Stockholm.  More info here.

And then on to official festival business...

1 pm to 1:45 pm

3 pm to 3:45 pm

Please note that all D+Q panels will take place in English. You can check out the rest of the programming (in Swedish) here.

Plus, you'll be able to find a whole lotta D+Q books at the actual festival! Staffars Bookstore will be selling them at the Festival and at the Festival signings. The Stockholms Internationella Seriefestival takes place Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th from noon to 6 pm at "Studion, Hörsalen, Bibliotek Plattan, Foajé 3, Marionetteatern." I'm not totally sure what that means, but get down there, Swedes (Danes, Norwegians, Finns, and non-Scandinavians welcome too).
